“To understand another person’s world, you must first see the world through their eyes.” — Original, school-focused
Our World Views programme develops pupils who are religiously literate and able to engage in balanced, informed conversations about religious beliefs and world-views. Religious Education (RE) invites students to engage with and examine religion and world-views as they relate to their own lives and those of others.
World Views lessons are delivered through three key academic disciplines:
- Philosophy – thinking through thinking
- Theology – thinking through believing
- Human and Social Sciences – thinking through living
Through these lenses, pupils gain a deep understanding of major world religions and worldviews and explore authentic religious material through interpretation and enquiry.
The programme encourages pupils to reflect on their own thoughts and beliefs while providing a safe environment for discussion and debate. Pupils critically consider diversity in both their local and national contexts and have opportunities for personal reflection and spiritual development on big questions. World Views supports our Academy’s mission to help students become thoughtful, responsible, and effective contributors to society.
