Penguins, pies and pianos for year 5

Parents amazed at open day

Year 5 parents were fed, serenaded and wowed this afternoon at a Priory Witham year group open afternoon.

Arranged to launch the children’s Christmas learning, parents were invited in to share in their children’s learning.

The year 5 children will be learning to care for a penguin in the build up to Christmas and began that process today.

After working alongside their children, parents were taken in to the ICT suite where mince pies were available and a few Christmas songs were sung to them.

While Unto Us a Child is Born helped the parents digest their pies, Rock Around the Shops was sung with such gusto the whole of key stage 2 popped their heads out to listen.

The year 5 children and adults would like to say thank you to all parents that attended the event.
